1st Amendment & Zoning Laws
Kenneth Young Law - Philadelphia, PA1st Amendment & Zoning Law
When I graduated law school and purchased my first home in 1995, I became an active member of a prominent and well organized community organization in South Philadelphia. Eventually I became their pro bono/volunteer attorney and fought several zoning matters on the community’s behalf. I had the privilege of being elected as my local division political committee member and again was involved in politics, by working with various politicians, including councilman, both state and federal representatives, the mayors, union officials and the City’s various Ward Leaders. I started representing applicants in zoning matters and became extremely knowledgable and familiar with the Zoning Code, City of Philadelphia licensing issues and traditions of the process.
Kenneth Young is a very strong believer in individual freedoms and rights.
I have successfully represented individuals, business and organizations from religious institutions, unions, small businesses, day cares, bars, restaurants, cabarets to lifestyle clubs before every administrative board in the City of Philadelphia. I have also sued the City of Philadelphia and the Department of Licenses and Inspections on various property use and 1st Amendment issues and have taken them to Court on several occasions. I have also sued Municipalities outside of the City of Philadelphia and have successfully represented business and individuals before zoning boards and committees in suburban towns and boroughs in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
